The Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy SASTRA University, is a deemed university located in Thirumalaisamudram, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, India. It was established in 1984.

B.Tech Admissions-

Admissions to B. Tech programmes at the university will be based on JEE Main 2016 scores and class XII examination.

Eligibility Criteria:

+2 examination with Mathematics & Physics as compulsory subjects with either Chemistry /Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology as optional subjects from any recognized Board or any other equivalent examination, with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology obtained in a single sitting.

Candidates with Diploma in Engineering/Technology can apply for direct admission to the second year of the relevant B. Tech. Programme.

Candidate should not have completed 19 years of age by July 2016. (21 years for Lateral Entry)

Selection Procedure:

The University will select 70% of the candidates on the basis of their performance in JEE Main 2016 and +2 examinations conducted by various boards across the country.

Selection for the remaining 30% of seats, will be done on the basis of the normalized aggregate +2 marks.

Exam Paper Pattern:

As there is no separate entrance test, candidates have to clear JEE Main 2016 for admission.

Admission will be based on higher secondary score and JEE Main 2016 Result.

Application Form:

The application forms are available from March 25, 2016 onwards and will close by June 11, 2016.
