Set up in 1988, the School of Letters had a portion of the best artistic personalities of India to guide its exercises in the developmental days. These incorporate : Jnanapitha grant champ Prof. U.R. Anantha Murthy, the Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University amid 1987-1991, who considered the possibility of an interdisciplinary focal point of artistic reviews and inquire about, and the late Prof. G. Sankara Pillai, the Founder and the primary Director of the School, who gave solid shape to the thought.

Prof. Narendra Prasad, was the Director of the School from 1989 to 2003. Manuel has gotten State Film Award.

Sidharth Siva, who keeps on being a researcher in the School has so far gotten a few State and National Awards for his commitments to Malayalam Cinema (101 Chodyangal and Ine).
