The University of Calcutta invites application form for admission in various Ph.D. Programmes. Yeah, after State Eligibility Test (SET) exam you are eligible for direct admission in PhD without appearing in the entrance exam. You have to appear in only interview for admission. PhD Selection Process: The candidates who are selected from the written examination will be proceeded to attend the Interview The candidates who are short listed after the Interview will be short listed and allotted seats in the programme of Ph.D. at the University of Calcutta. The candidates who have obtained M.Phil Degree or have successfully qualified GATE / SLET / SET / NET / UGC / CSIR / Teacher Eligibility Test or equivalent are exempted from appearing written examination. Hence, the candidates will be eligible to attend the Interview round directly. The eligible candidates identified through RET/ NET/ SET/ MPhil have to submit statement of purpose (SoP) indicating the area of research interest (not exceeding 1000 words) on which a final interview will be conducted. The SoP has to be submitted at the time of application itself. Application Fee/Processing Fee: The aspirants will have to pay the application fee of 100/- at the cash counter at Rashbehari Shiksha Prangan at Rajabazar Science College, 92 A.P.C. Road, Kolkata 700 009. Structure of the Examination: There will be 50 multiple choice questions (MCQ), each of 2 marks; Questions will be on Economics Theory, Quantitative Economics and Contemporary Global and Indian Economic Problems; MCQs will be on Microeconomic Theory (8), Macroeconomic Theory (8), Statistics, Econometrics (10) and Mathematical Economics (4) and there will be 10 MCQ on each one of the two passages meant for the test of comprehension; The selected passages for the test of comprehension would be on Contemporary Global and Indian Economic Problems; Contact- University Of Calcutta Senate House, 87/1, College Street, Kolkata, West Bengal 700073 |
