Recognizing the spearheading work of Dr. Karve, Sir Vithaldas Thackersey made a liberal contribution, to honour the memory of his mom, Nathibai. In 1920 after the great advocate's mom the University was renamed as Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women's University.

SNDT Women's University is focused on the cause of ladies' strengthening through access to training, especially advanced education, through significant courses in the formal furthermore, non-formal streams. The objectives of the SNDT Women's University developing from the Vision and Mission are:

• create grant and research in developing territories of study, especially with concentrate on ladies' points of view
