The Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) written exam contains two paper.

Paper I:
General Knowledge & Mental Aptitude
Duration: 1 hour

This objective type paper is the same for all candidates.

General Knowledge will have questions on Art & Culture, Society & People with special focus on India.

Paper II :
Specific Area Aptitude
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

There will be separate question papers as per area of specialisation opted for
i.e. Direction & Screenplay writing / Cinematography / Editing / Audiography( Sound Recording).

Those who clear the entrance exam will be called for the interactive orientation session and viva voce.

Candidates will also be required to undergo a medical fitness test.
