Re: SSC Thrust Car

ThrustSSC, Thrust SSC, or Thrust supersonic auto, is a British stream moved auto created by Richard Noble, Glynne Bowsher, Ron Ayers and Jeremy Bliss.

The auto was driven by Royal Air Force military pilot Wing Commander Andy Green operating at a profit Rock Desert in the condition of Nevada. It was controlled by two afterburning Rolls-Royce Spey turbofan motors, as utilized as a part of the British adaptation of the F-4 Phantom II stream contender.

The auto was 16.5 m (54 ft) long, 3.7 m (12 ft) wide and weighed 10.5 tons (10.7 t), and the twin motors built up a net push of 223 kN (50,000 lbf), a power yield of 110,000 bhp (82MW),[2] smoldering around 18 liters/second (4.0 Imperial gallons/s or 4.8 US gallons/s). Changed into the typical terms for auto mileages in light of its greatest speed, the fuel utilization was around 5,500 l/100 km (0.05 mpg-pixie; 0.04 mpg-US).

Pushed SSC holds the World Land Speed Record, set on 15 October 1997, when it accomplished a speed of 1,228 km/h (763 mph) and turned into the primary auto to formally break the sound wall.

The official land-speed record (measured more than one mile) is 1,227.985 km/h (763.035 mi/h) (Mach 1.020), set by Andy Green (UK) on 15 October 1997 operating at a profit Rock Desert, Nevada, USA, in Thrust SSC.

The present holder of the Outright World Land Speed Record is ThrustSSC, a twin turbofan stream fueled auto which accomplished 763.035 mph - 1227.985 km/h - more than one mile in October 1997. This was the main supersonic record as it broke the sound wall at Mach 1.016.
