Re: SSC Vs Bank PO

SSC-CGL and IBPS-PO exams are for government jobs but for different posts that we cannot make direct comparison between the two. But some comparisons are given on the basis of following points:

Selection Process
Salary
Postings
Growth
Work Pressure
Public Dealing
Gender Preference
Bond

Selection Process:
IBPS PO written exam is conducted in 2 parts Prelims and Mains.

In Prelims there are three sections such as –

Quantitative Ability
Logical Reasoning
English Language

In IBPS-PO Mains there are five sections such as

Quantitative Ability
Logical Reasoning
English Language
General Awareness
Computers

After these, there is a final interview round.
SSC CGL is conducted in 2 parts Prelims and Mains.
Tier one has following sections
General Intelligence and Reasoning
General Awareness
Quantitative Aptitude
English Comprehension

Tier 2 has
Quantitative Abilities
English Language and Comprehension

Interview of 100 marks as a final round

A Bank PO salary and SSC recruit gets an almost similar salary. However, a bank employee has more switching options rather than a SSC recruit.
In IBPS PO you might get sent in rural areas or the best cities. You may also get job in your home town. In SSC CGL the occurrence of transfers is less and the employee might feel stuck.

In SSC the growth is relatively slow unlike Bank PO, the growth is usually fast track if you are open to new opportunities.
