Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), Hyderabad, has assign Sri Venkateswara University with the responsibility of conducting state-level entrance examination, namely, SVU LAWCET or Andhra LAWCET.

The entrance exam is conducted every year for admission into 5 year and 3 Year LLB course offered in numerous governments, government-aided and private institutions across the state.

The admission is strictly done on the basis of the scores obtained by the candidate in the entrance examination.

Eligibility Criteria forLAWCET and PGLCET –

• For 3 year LL.B / B.L. course: One should have passed any Graduate Degree (10+2+3 pattern) of a recognized University with 45% of aggregate marks or any other exam recognized as equivalent by the Universities concerned.

• For 5 year LL.B./B.L. course: One should have passed two year intermediate exam (10+2 pattern) with 45% of aggregate marks or any other exam recognized as equivalent by the university concerned or the Board of Intermediate Education, A.P.

• For LLM: One holding LL.B/B.L. degree and candidates who have appeared/appearing for LL.B/B.L., final year exam.


Paper Pattern for LAWCET

• It consists of 3 sections and the total number of questions will be 120. The duration of test is 90 minutes. Maximum marks are 120.
• Section-A consists of 30 questions carrying 30 marks and the questions are from general knowledge and mental ability.
• Section-B consists of 30 questions carrying 30 marks and the questions are from current affairs.
• Section-C consists of 60 question carrying 60 marks and the questions are from aptitude for the study of law
• The questions in Section-C, aptitude for the study of law, elementary knowledge of the basic principles of the law and constitution of India on the part of the student is assumed.
• The questions are objective type including multiple choices questions, matching items.
• There is no negative mark for incorrect answers.
• The question paper is set both in English and Telugu.

Paper Pattern for PGLCET

• The entrance test consists of two sections and the total number of questions will be 120.
• The duration of test is 90 minutes. Maximum marks are 120.
• Section-A consists of 40 questions carrying 40 marks in which 20 questions is from Jurisprudence and 20 questions will be from constitutional law.
• Section-B consists of 80 questions carrying 80 marks and there is 16 questions from each topic such as public international law, mercantile law, labor law, crimes and torts and IPR & other laws.
• There is no negative mark for incorrect answers.
• The question paper is set both in English and Telugu.
