Syllabus of exam of Combined Defence Services exam which is conducted by UPSC
I want to give the exam of Combined Defence Services and for that I want to get the syllabus so can you provide me that? As you want to get the syllabus of exam of Combined Defence Services exam so here is the information of the same for you: English Section (Code 01): In this section the questions will be framed to judge the understanding of English in candidates (vocabulary, grammar, etc). General Knowledge Section (Code 02): This section of question paper basically comprises questions from the current affairs (events), daily happening matters which becomes the headlines and the scientific aspects experience as it may be expected of a well educated person who has not at all undergone any special kind of study of any field of science. Elementary Mathematics Section (Code No. 03) I) Arithmetic Basic Number System which comprises Natural numbers, prime numbers, Integers, Rational (not irrational) numbers and Real numbers. Fundamental operations of digits such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division of numbers, Squares and roots, Decimal fractions (BODMAS included). II) Algebra Basic or elementary Operations of digits, Remainder Theorem, simple factors, and H.C.F. and L.C.M. Theory of polynomials, quadratic equations, discriminants that is the relation between its roots and coefficients (Only real roots must be taken under consideration). Simultaneous and linear equations with two unknown-analytical as well as graphical solutions. Simultaneous and linear equations with two variables. Convenient and important problems leading to two simultaneous linear equations or inequalities with two variables or quadratic equations only with one variable, Sets basic and sets notation (Venn diagram not included), Rational numbers as well as conditional identities, Laws of exponents. III) Trigonometry Applications of Sine x, Tangent x, Cosine x while 00 x 900 values of Cos x, Cot x, Sin x, Sec x, tan x, Cosec x, for value of x = 0 degree, 30 degree, 45 degree, 60 degree, 90 degree, applications of trigonometrical identities. Applications of trigonometric tables, uses of trigonometrical tables in simple problems of heights and distances. IV) Geometry Applications of geometry, Lines and angles, Planes with its figures, including Theorems on: Applications of properties of angles at a point Concept of Parallel lines, Sides and vertex angles of triangles, Application of Congruency of triangles (including Pythagoras Theorem), Similarity of triangles, agreement of medians as well as altitudes, Properties of angles of quadrilaterals, sides with diagonals of a parallelogram, simple concept of rectangle and square Circles with its main properties comprising concept of tangents and normals, Concept of Locus. V) Mensuration Main concepts of Volume and surface area. Problems on Surface Area include square, parallelograms, circles, triangles, and rectangles, also areas of those figures which can be divided into these figures. Problems on Volume include volume of cubes and cuboids (including surface area), right circular cones, right circular cylinders, and volume of spheres (including its surface area). VI) Statistics Statistical data collection as well as tabulation, frequency polygons with a perfect graphical representation, bars chats (graphs), pie charts, Histograms, etc. Measurement of central tendency problems included. VII) Intelligence and personality test Along with the interview course of time the applicants shall be placed on Intelligence Tests in both English (verbal) and non-verbal, basically framed to evaluate their general brilliance and sense of humor.
