Tansa House is a residential premises present within the IIT Bombay campus managed and run by the Industrial Research and Consultancy Center (IRCC) which governs all the R&D activities and sponsored projects in all the departments.

Tansa mess was start form 1 March. The residents herein are popularly known as 'Tansaite'.

Tansaites, are the core people who take research at IIT Bombay to high levels and work on different reputed projects funded by Governments

General structure of the menu.
Breakfast
a) Unlimited Indian dish
b) Sprouts/Boiled Pulses, Milk (one Glass of 200 ml) with Cornflakes / Bournvita / Horlics
c) 2 boiled Eggs or Double Omelet or Egg Bhurji OR 2 Bananas
d) Unlimited Tea and Coffee

Lunch
a) Unlimited Rice, Unlimited Chapatti (with and without Ghee) or Plain Paratha or Poori,
b) Unlimited Dal
c) Unlimited Sambar or Rasam (5 days in a week alternatively)
d) Unlimited green leafy vegetables curry (2 days in a week)
e) Unlimited Curry or Sabji
f) Curd / Raita / Chaas / Lassi / Shrikhand as mentioned.
g) Papad / chips, Pickle, Salad

Dinner
a) Unlimited Rice, Unlimited Chapatti (with and without Ghee) or Plain Paratha or Poori,
b) Unlimited Dal
c) Unlimited Rasam
d) Unlimited Curry or Sabji
e) Pickle, Salad
f) Fruits / sweets (Alternative for 6 days in a week)
g) Ice Cream (Once in a week)
