Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the important dates of SSC CGL 2017 for recruitment of approximately 4000 Group B posts in Ministries/ Departments/ Organisations. The SSC CGL 2017 will be conducted in four stages among which Tier I, II and IV will be a computer based examination (CSE) while Tier III will be descriptive paper conducted in offline mode (paper based exam). SSC CGL 2017 Important Dates SSC CGL 2017 Online registration begins on March 11, 2017 SSC CGL 2017 application form last date April 15, 2017 Payment of examination fee March 11 to April 15, 2017 Tier I exam admit card available from April-May, 2017 SSC CGL 2017 Tier I - Exam Date June 9 to July 2, 2017 Answer key of Tier I August, 2017 SSC CGL 2017 Tier I Result July-August, 2017 Tier II exam admit card available from August, 2017 SSC CGL 2017 Tier II Exam Date September 5 to 8, 2017 Answer key of Tier II September, 2017 Tier II Result Dates September-October, 2017 SSC CGL 2017 Tier III Exam Date November 12, 2017 SSC CGL 2017 Tier IV Exam Date December 2017 SSC CGL 2017 Final Result March – April, 2018 SSC CGL 2017 Tier I Syllabus General Intelligence & Reasoning The questions will be of both verbal and non-verbal type. The questions will be based on analogies, similarities and series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc. differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal, etc. General Awareness Questions will test candidate’s general awareness of the environment and its application to society. Questions will test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person Quantitative Aptitude The questions will be from computation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, Percentage. Ratio & Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Alligation, Time and distance, Time & Work, Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra & Elementary surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, etc. English Comprehension Ability to understand correct English, c comprehension and writing ability, etc SSC CGL 2017 Tier II Syllabus Paper I - Quantitative Ability Numbers, Percentage. Ratio & Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Alligation, Time and distance, Time & Work, Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra & Elementary surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles, Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons , Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, etc. Paper II English Language & Comprehension Questions in this components will be designed to test the candidate’s understanding and knowledge of English Language and will be based on spot the error, fill in the blanks, synonyms, antonyms, spelling/detecting misspelt words, idioms & phrases, one word substitution, improvement of sentences, active/passive voice of verbs, etc. Paper III Statistics for Investigator Grade II Collection Classification and Presentation of Statistical Data, Measures of Dispersion, Moments, Skewness and Kurtosis, Correlation and Regression, Probability Theory, Random Variable and Probability Distributions, Sampling Theory, Statistical Inference, Time Series Analysis, Index Numbers, Analysis of Variance, etc. Paper IV General Studies (Finance and Economics) Fundamental principles and basic concept of Accounting, Economics and Governance, Finance Commission-Role and functions, Basic Concept of Economics and introduction to Micro Economics, Theory of Demand and Supply Theory of Demand and Supply, Theory of Production and cost, Forms of Market and price determination in different markets Indian Economy |
