The Texas Southern University having a Police Department Tx. The Department, located in the General Services Building at the intersection of the 3400 block of Blodgett Street and 4700 block of Tierwester Street, operates 24 hours a day, year-round and is composed of professional law enforcement personnel.

All Public Safety Officers must complete the state certified Basic Course for Peace Officers and pass the State's mandated test.

Following successful completion of the course and passing of the test, each officer must pass a drug test, a psychological evaluation and a background investigation prior to appointment.
