Tezpur University is a Central University located in Tezpur in the North Eastern state of Assam.

The Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (MBBT) was inaugurated on July 24, 1997.

The department offers two-year M. Sc degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, 5 year Integrated M.Sc in Bioscience and Bioinformatics and PhD in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.

About M.Sc in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology

Intake:

No of seats: 30 (10 seats are reserved for North East domiciles and 20 seats are filled through Combine Entrance Examination Biotechnology (CEEB) conducted by JNU, New Delhi)

Eligibility:

Bachelor’s degree in Physical, Chemical, Biological,Agricultural, Veterinery, Fishery Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering/Technology, Four years B.S. programme, MBBS, BDS with minimum 55% marks in major/honours. Candidates from Universities/Institutes which do not offer major/honours must have at least 55% marks in aggregates.
