Re: TG582n GRE

The Technicolor Gateway TG582n (furthermore implied as the 582n or "BE Box v2") is made by Technicolor (beforehand Thomson, a mood killer of Alcatel) who portrays it as a "Remote n Multi-User ADSL2+ Gateway".

Stamping of this switch (custom TR069 provisioning, web interface, packaging… ) is generally selected to Technicolor/Thomson by various ISPs, for instance, Telecom Italia, BT/PlusNet, TalkTalk, Spark and some more.

This switch is totally great with OpenWrt Chaos Calmer 15.05 specialist release. Everything is maintained (Ethernet, USB, wifi) with the exception of ADSL modem. If you require the ADSL modem part don't upgrade this container to OpenWrt.

Board Versions and Hardware Differences

The TG582n comes in no under three specific gear varieties perceived by their board name (DANT-1, DANT-T, DANT-V). The fundamental differentiation is from every angle streak chip, which is either 8 MiB or 16 MiB. Other than this, testing so far shows that the PCB configuration is indistinct for all sheets.

The board variety and moreover essential data, for instance, firmware shape, bootloader, et cetera can be gotten to by methods for the web interface of the stock firmware, which is generally at 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254 and which is set apart by the provider. There are no organization traditions available (e.g. telnet/ssh) other than the web UI.
