University BDT College of Engineering (UBDTCE), Davangere, was the only Government Engineering College in the state. It was affiliated to the Kuvempu University. Later it affiliates to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum.

B.Tech Eligibility -

Karnataka 2nd PUC /12th standard or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Biology as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study

Candidates must obtain a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects.

40% of marks, In case of candidates belonging to Karnataka Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and other Backward Classes (Category I, 2A,2B, 3A and 3B)

Admission is made completely through Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Government of Karnataka through Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).

CET will be generally conducted during the month of April/May of every year.

Selection is based on the Merit and Reservation in accordance with the policies of the Government of Karnataka.

Seats are reserved for candidates belonging to different categories viz., General Merit, SC/ST, Category I,II,III & IV, and Political Sufferers, Defence, Sports, NCC and Physically Handicapped.

Selection through Diploma quota and G.O.I quota are made by the Director of Technical Education, Bangalore
