The Department of Education of University Of Kashmir was established in the year 1965.

This is one of the biggest Department in the University of Kashmir both in terms of student enrollment and number of the courses offered.

Programs offered-

The Department offers following programmes.

M.A Programme in Education-

Duration : Two years (4 Semesters)•

Intake Capacity : 60+18Self Financed seats

Eligibility Criteria :

Three year B.A. Course with Education as one of the subjects or Graduation (B.A/B.Sc/B.Com/BBA/BCA) with B.Ed.

M.Ed Programme-

Duration : One year (2 Semesters)

Intake Capacity : 40+12 Self-Financed seats (Main Campus)

Eligibility Criteria :

B.Ed. with 3 years teaching experience in a recognized Educational Institute.

In case of experience at school level, the certificate should be countersigned by the concerned chief Education Officer and in case of college teachers, it should be countersigned by Dean College Development Council, University of Kashmir. 50% seats are reserved for fresh B.Ed. graduates without any teaching experience who have obtained not less than 55% marks at B.Ed. level.

B.Ed Self-financing Programme

Duration : One year
Intake Capacity : 200 Seats
Nature : Self-Financing
