The Department of Sociology was Established in 1989.

In 2003, Master in Social Work (MSW) Was Started.

The Department Has Presently 6 Faculty Members,
Two Professors,
One Associate Professor,
Three Assistant Professors

Every year Students Qualify Various Competitive Examinations Such as NET/JRF, SET, and KAS

The Department has Produced 35 M. Phil. and 16 Ph. D’s till date.

Department offers following Courses:

1. M. A. Sociology

2. M. Phil.

3. Ph. D.

Every Year, the Department is Organizing Seminars/ Conferences/ Workshops on Priority areas as specified at local, national and International level.
