Re: University of Madras Lateral Entry

Graduates with a software engineering foundation will be permitted to straightforwardly enlist in the second year of Masters of Computer Applications (MCA) degree program in schools and colleges crosswise over India.

The move is on the lines of the current parallel passage entrance into BE/BTech degree courses for polytechnic recognition holders. The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has affirmed a strategy choice to permit graduates in Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), BSc Information Technology and BSc Computer Science to get lateral entry inductions into MCA course from 2013-14.

The aspirants more likely than not considered Mathematics as a subject in higher secondary level or in their college degree program. This would empower BCA and BSc (Computer Science and IT) graduates to acquire a MCA degree in two years rather than the standard three year time frame.

Competitors more likely than not got no less than half (45% if there should arise an occurrence of hopeful having a place with saved classification) total score in the qualifying examination.

Clarifying the method of reasoning behind the move, AICTE Member Secretary said, "BCA and BSc (Computer Science and IT) graduates have officially concentrated on the subjects that are taught in the MCA first year. Subsequently, we chose to permit them to straightforwardly join the second year of MCA
