The University Mountaineering Center, Banaras Hindu University was built up in the year 1971 by Former Education Minister (Govt. of India) and the then Vice-Chancellor of Banaras Hindu University Late Dr. K.L. Srimali for advancing the Mountaineering and Allied Sports among the young. Aims and Objectives of UMC
