About the Program


The Dugoni School of Dentistry launched its Registered Dental Assistant in Extended Functions (RDAEF) program in June 2011.

Feature of the Program

A comprehensive program with 410/342 hours of instruction, combining online lectures, group discussions, hands-on laboratory and live patient clinical experiences
Certification programs for both RDAs and existing RDAEFs at a fully-accredited dental school
Personalized instruction led by dental faculty members from the Dugoni School of Dentistry and UCSF
The only Dental Board of California-approved provider of the RDAEF program at a dental school in Northern California
Interest-free payment plans are available to qualified candidates

Course Schedule :

Module 1: August 12 – October 12, 2017 (6 weekends)
August 12 & 13; 19 & 20 (1/2 day)
September 9 & 10; 16 & 17; 30
October 1; 14 & 15


Module 2: October 21 – December 10, 2017 (5 weekends)
October 21 & 22
November 4 & 5; 18 & 19
December 2 & 3; 9 & 10

Module 3: January 6 - May 6, 2018 (10 weekends; 8 weekends for current RDAEFs)
January 6 & 7; 20 & 21; 27 & 28
February 10* & 11 (1/2 day); 24* & 25
March 10* & 11; 24* & 25* (1/2 day)
April 14 & 15; 21 & 22
May 5 & 6 (1/2 day of classes followed by Graduation)
