UPSC Interview panel
Hello sir, I have cleared UPSC IAS exam, now I am preparing for interview session, so guys can you give me some information about UPSC Interview panel for IAS exam? how many member will include and take interview from IAS exam passed candidates? The Union Public Service Commission consists of one Chairman and 10 members. The composition of the UPSC for Personality Test will consist of one Chairman (who does not take Interviews) and 8 other members. There are about 5 to 6 panels at any given time taking interviews simultaneously. Each panel is chaired by a member of the UPSC, usually IAS officers. (Composition of the Commission) Invitations are sent out to professors and researchers from the top universities in India (IITs, DU, etc) and people from think tanks and other government institutions like Centre for Policy Research and PUSA. Having a brief knowledge about the interview panel can prove very helpful for the IAS (Indian Administrative Service) aspirants. Knowing about the educational and professional background of the Interview Panel members can give an edge in the interview process. It might help in knowing what kind of questions might be asked by a particular interview panel. Also, knowledge of the background of the interview panel can help in communicating better. Once having a rough idea about the members of the interview panel, one can express oneself tactfully. One should be very clear that it is not an interview it’s a personality test .So don’t go so much deep about academic knowledge. There are some points that are considered during personality test: 1 . The Panel check confidence that how would tackles a new problem. 2. The Panel check decisive power that how much efficiently can work. 3. The Panel also look for a person who can understand the public and there their demands. 4. The Panel always try to know what one is in reality that’s why they ask mostly questions based on hobbies and area of interest. 5. Some time Panel ask wired questions, the only logic behind such question that how to react unpredictable situations. So go in personality test with full confidence, write only realities in resume (C.V) and be one. Last edited by Neelurk; February 29th, 2020 at 10:33 AM. |
