"State Board Of Technical Education and Training" was set up in the state in May,1958. The Board led its first examination in 1960,for courses of recognition level and furthermore for Draftsman Certificate Course. The name of the state Board was changed to "Leading group Of Technical Education" in 1962.

Around the same time, the "U.P. Pravidhic Shiksha Adhiniyam - 1962" was established granting the Board statutory status. In the year 1962, year of its origin, the Board held the examination of around 2500 understudies, in three noteworthy orders of Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering at 25 distinct Centers/Institutions.

It has an executive , bad habit administrator and 40 individuals ,named by the state government .Secretary ,Board of Technical Education ,U.P. is ex-officio part secretary of the Board.

The educational modules arranged by different organizations was received by the Board, till 1980 yet from that point the educational programs and syllabi were produced and amended, at regular intervals at the Board level through its Curriculum improvement focus.

7. To prompt the state Govt. on composed advancement of the Technical Education and Training.
