Uttarakhand Open University is an Open University established by an Act of Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly on 31 October 2005.

It is recognized by Distance Education Council, University Grants Commission and listed in Association of Indian Universities. It operates under the State of Uttarakhand, and has a network of eight Regional Centers and 300+ Study Centers across the state.

Its vision is to provide the most critical components of growth, through quality higher education, to the state of Uttarakhand.
