The syllabus of Diploma in Labour Laws and Labour Welfare (DLL & LW) Program as offered by Savitribai Phule Pune University is as follwos: Syllabus Given below is the list of topics: • Law relating to Labour Management • Social Security Legislation • Principles of Wage Fixation and Law of Wages • Legislation affecting Condition of Work • Practical Training (Field Work Visits and Viva Voce) Course Description • ILS offers 1 year full time course Diploma in Labour Laws and Labour Welfare (DLL and LW) • Aims to develop skills in labour laws and labour welfare related laws. • After successful course completion one will be able to pursue a successful career in the specified field. Previous Year DLL & LW Question Paper 1. With reference to the Trade Unions Act, 1926, explain. a) The difference between Political Fund and General Fund. b) Amalgamation and dissolution of unions. 2. Examine the powers of the Labour Courts under the Bombay Industrial Relations Act, 1946. 3. Examine the provisions regarding alterations of conditions of service and dismissal or discharge of workmen during pendency of proceedings before authorities under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947. 4. State the salient features of the Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act, 1946. 5. Define Lay-off and Retrenchment and examine the conditions precedent for valid retrenchment. 6. Define strikes and lockouts under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947. Examine the circumstances as to when a strike or lock-out becomes illegal under the Act. 7. Explain the provisions regarding Awards and Settlements under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947. How do you ensure that the Settlements signed with the Unions are legally binding on the employees ?
