West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education is the West Bengal state government regulated self-ruling inspecting expert for the Standard 12 examination (or Higher optional level or Pre-college level examination) of West Bengal, India. The examination for the twelfth standard is known as the Uchcha Madhyamik or Higher Secondary examination (Also known by its acronym H.S. or, then again 10+2). The Higher Secondary examination is led every year and all the while everywhere throughout the territory of West Bengal and furthermore in offshoots of the board situated outside West Bengal, somewhere else in India. It has its central station at Vidyasagar Bhavan, Salt Lake City, in Kolkata, India. Other than it primary office it has 3 different workplaces at Bidhannagar, Karunamoyee, Kolkata alongside other 4 local workplaces. Members from the Council It is the obligation of the Council to exhort the State Government on all issues identifying with Higher Secondary Education alluded to it by the State Government. The Council has the ability to coordinate, administer and control the Higher Secondary Education in the State. The major functions of the Council are to : evaluate intermittently the Educational needs at higher auxiliary level at the state and set out the General strategy for the improvement of the Higher Secondary Education; accommodate review of Recognized Institutions; give by directions, the educational modules, syllabus, the courses of concentrates to be taken after and the books to be considered in Recognized Institutions; embrace the arrangement, production and offer of Text Books and different books for use in the Recognized Institutions; establish Higher Secondary Examination for the reasons for the Act; also, to distribute consequences of examination established by the Council and to grant endorsements and grant thereof; The Higher Secondary Course should comprise of two sections, i.e. Class XI and Class XII. The educational modules of Higher Secondary Course should comprise of Two dialect subjects one each from Group 'An' and Group 'B' of Schedule II Three obligatory elective subjects, one each to be browsed any gathering One discretionary elective subject to be looked over the gatherings staying after the determination of obligatory elective subject.
