Exam pattern:

Number of papers: Paper 1 is for mathematics and paper 2 is for Physics and Chemistry.

Type of questions: All the questions in the exam are of multiple choice type. Candidates get 4 answer option for each question.

Number of questions: Total questions in the exam are 155. Out of these 75 questions are asked from maths and 80 from physics and chemistry.

Total Marks: The exam is of total 200 marks.

Marking scheme of WBJEE 2020: The marking scheme of WBJEE varies for each category.

Category I – Here, only 1 answer option is correct and candidates get 1 mark for choosing it.

Negative marking in Category I is of 1/4 marks.
Category II – Even in this section, only 1 answer option is the correct answer. However, each question in this section is of 2 marks.

Negative marking of 1/2 mark is done in this Category,
Category III – In this category, more than 1 option can be correct answer. If candidates select both the correct answers, they are allocated 2 marks.

If both the answer options selected are wrong then no negative marking is done.
For selecting partial correct and partial incorrect answer, 0 marks are allocated.
