What is the difference between municipal corporation and municipal council
Hi buddy can you here tell me basic deference between municipal corporation and municipal council, tell me plz as my sister asking for the same ?? A municipal corporation is the legal term for a local governing body, including (but not necessarily limited to) cities, counties, towns, townships, charter townships, villages, and boroughs. As you asking I am telling basic deference between municipal corporation and municipal council, Municipal corporation-It govern cities with a population of more than 10 lakhs. Municipal council-It govern smaller cities and towns with a population of more than 20.000 but less that 10 lakhs. In India, Municipal Corporations or City Corporation or Mahanagar Palika or Mahanagar Nigam are urban local government that works for the development of a city, which has a population of more than one million (ten lakh). Functions Water supply Hospitals Roads Over bridge Street lighting Drainage Solid waste Fire brigades Market places Records of births and deaths it also helps in education and primary health care Its sources of income are taxes on water, houses, markets, entertainment and vehicles paid by residents of the town and grants from the state government.
