Law encompasses almost all the aspects of social, economic and political world. Over the past few years or so the perception towards law has changed considerably and more and more students are now seeking law as a career option in the country. India has some of the world best law colleges that provides the quality education of the law to the students of the country. Admission Procedure An all-India level entrance examination CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) is conducted to grant admission in National Law Institutes in India. Many top level colleges conduct their own entrance exam in the country. Eligibility Criteria Students who have cleared the High School Examination or equivalent diploma with minimum 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) are eligible to appear for CLAT entrance exam to get the admission to the law courses in the country. For the five-year LLB courses candidate should be below 20 years of age on July 1 to apply for CLAT. While in some other top colleges (NLU Delhi, Jamia Milia Islamia, GGSIP University) the upper age limit is 21 years, in AMU Law Faculty it is 22 years. For the three-year LLB examination, there is no restriction on the upper age limit, whereas the minimum age is required to be 17 years on the date of application.
