Indian Institute of Management Ranchi (IIM Ranchi) was inaugurated on 6 July 2010. This IIM is amongst the six new IIMs that were approved by the Union Cabinet on 27 August 2009.

Aim of establishment of this IIM is to generating highly competent and highly trained manpower. College is operating from a temporary campus in Suchana Bhavan, behind the Governor House premises in Ranchi.
