Agricultural Technology, including the appropriation/advancement of basic inputs, and enhanced agronomic practices were being scattered under 17 distinct plans of the Department of Agriculture and Cooperation amid the eleventh Plan. The Modified Extension Reforms Scheme was presented in 2010 with the target of reinforcing the augmentation apparatus and using it for synergizing the mediations under these plans under the umbrella of Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA). NMAET has been conceived as the following stride towards this goal through the amalgamation of these plans. National Mission on Agricultural Extension and Technology (NMAET) comprises of 4 Sub Missions:

(i)Sub Mission on Agricultural Extension (SMAE)

(ii)Sub-Mission on Seed and Planting Material (SMSP)

(iii)Sub Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM)

(iv)Sub Mission on Plant Protection and Plant Quarantine (SMPP)

Aims and Objectives:

The Scheme 'Backing to State Extension Programs for Extension Reforms' goes for making augmentation framework agriculturist driven and rancher responsible by scattering innovation to agriculturists through new institutional game plans viz. Rural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) at locale level to operationalize the expansion changes on a participatory mode.
