Yes, you are eligible for Karnataka CET if I did schooling outside Karnataka. But you need to produce a domicile certificate issued by the concerned Revenue or Municipal Authorities certifying that the candidate and his either of parent have resided outside the state of Karnataka. The place of the Issuing authority should correspond to the place of domicile of the candidate / father / mother.

Karnataka CET

The Karnataka Common Entrance Test is conducted for admission of Karnataka candidates to full time courses in Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Unani, Homoeopathy, Naturopathy & Yoga, Engineering, Technology and Architecture courses, in institutions within the State of Karnataka.

KCET Eligibility Criteria:

Applicant must have studied in Karnataka for a minimum period of 7 years from Class 1 to Class XII in a school recognized by the Karnataka Board.

Applicant must have studied 10 + 2 in Karnataka and whose parents (either of them) have studied in Karnataka for a minimum period of 7 years.

Applicant whose mother tongue is Kanada, Tulu, Kodava (either parents mother tongue) with either of the parents domiciled in Karnataka. Applicant need to pass 10 + 2 from a University or Board or any other Institution located outside Karnataka and one residence must be outside the State of Karnataka. Such a candidate must undergo a Kannada Language test conducted by KEA

Applicant whose mother tongue is Kannada, Tulu or Kodava and who have resided and studied for a period of 7 years between Class I & XII in disputed Kannada speaking area of South Sholapur or Akkalkot or Jath or Gadhinglaj Taluks of Maharashtra State or Kasargod or Hosadurga Taluks of Kerala State. They need to undergo a Kannada Language test conducted by KEA

The Children of defence personnel who have worked in Karnataka for a minimum period of one year the candidate must have studied at least that one year (10 +2) in karnataka to avail this quota

Children of defence personnel who at the time of joining the defence forces had declared his hometown in Karnataka must submit proof to this effect.

The candidate must have passed 10 + 2 from any recognized board

Children of defense personnel who have served in Karnataka for a minimum of one year and are away on active duty with their family staying back in Karnataka

Such a candidate must have passed 10+ 2 from Karnataka

Children of ex-servicemen who at the time of joining the defence service had declared his hometown in Karnataka must produce proof of such domicile from the “Deputy Director, Department of Sainik Welfare and Resettlement”.

Such a candidate must passed 10 +2 from a recognized board in India.

Children of an employee of the Union Government or an employee of the Union or Karnataka State Government Undertaking or Joint Sector Undertaking, who is liable to be transferred anywhere in India as per the terms and conditions of his employment and who has worked in Karnataka for a minimum period of one year during the 2 year period of study of candidates in PUC / 11th and 12th Standard course. Such a candidate must have passed 10+2 from Karnataka

Children of a working or retired employee of the Union Government or employee of Union or Karnataka State Government undertaking or Joint Sector undertaking had declared his hometown in Karnataka at the time of joining service and had studied in any Government or Government recognized educational institution or institutions located in Karnataka for a minimum period of seven years; and was or is liable to be transferred anywhere in India as per the terms and conditions of his employment.

Such a candidate must passed 10 +2 from a recognized board in India.

Children of Members of Parliament elected from Karnataka who have passed 10 + 2 from a recognized board in India.

Children of serving or retired employee of All India Service of Karnataka cadre under the Karnataka State Government, who has served or is serving outside the State of Karnataka during the candidate’s study duration outside the State from 1st standard to 12th standard exam, can be added to make up the seven years study within Karnataka

Children of Jammu & Kashmiri migrants should submit proof of such migration (IDENTITY CARD) obtained and produced from the jurisdictional “District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner” of any state in India.

Candidates who have studied TEN full academic years in Kannada Medium from 1st standard to 10th standard outside the state of Karnataka need not appear for Kannada Language Test conducted by KEA.

They should have studied and passed the qualifying examination from any Government or Government recognized educational institution

Children whose parent is serving in Central Armed Police Force service, and who had declared his hometown in Karnataka at the time of joining the CAPF service (Central Armed Police Force), must submit such proof from the Record Office of the CAPF Unit where the Parent’s service records are maintained. Such a candidate must passed 10 +2 from a recognized board in India.

Candidates have to submit the requisite documents as specified in the brochure depending upon the eligibility as per the above mentioned clauses
