Punjab Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is compulsory to become a Punjab state government teacher.

It consists of two papers. The Punjab Teachers Eligibility Test exam consists of paper 1 and paper 2 for Class I to V and Class VI to VIII, i.e., lower and upper primary teachers.

Exam pattern:

Paper 1


PSTET paper 1 is an objective type exam.
Duration of Paper 1 is 150 minutes
Subjects Included in Paper 1: Mathematics, Language 1, Language 2, Child Development and Pedagogy, and Environmental Studies.
No of questions in each subject: 30 questions
No of marks for each subject: 30 marks
Total no. of marks is 150 marks
Total no. of questions is 150 questions

Paper 2

PSTET Paper 2 is an objective type exam.
Duration of Paper 2 is 150 minutes
There are two optional subjects: Mathematics and Science or Social Science
Subjects Included in Paper 2: Child Development and Pedagogy (compulsory), Language I (mandatory), Language II (mandatory) and Mathematics & Science Teacher (Optional: Mathematics and Science) or Social Studies/ Social Science teacher (Optional: Social Science)
No of questions in each compulsory subject: 30 questions
No of questions in the optional subject: 60 questions
Total no. of marks is 150 marks
Total no. of questions is 150 questions
No of marks for each compulsory subject: 30 marks
No of marks for optional subject: 60 marks
