Human Resource Management course provides with an overview of Human Resource Management (HRM) principles and strategies in the management of organizations. One is introduced to various HR functions that provides with an understanding of the various roles, particularly the strategic role of HRM in organizations. It introduces to various HRM theories and models that explain the nature and significance of key HRM practices and HRM outcomes in organizations. It explores the importance of managing human resources effectively in both increasingly competitive environments and in the international context. Key topics covered include: Strategic Human Resource Management; Organizational Culture and Human Resource Management; Human Resource Planning in a Changing Environment; Work Design Challenges; Talent Attraction and Selection; Talent Retention and Development; Management of Performance; Strategic Reward Management; Industrial Relations and Employee Involvement and Participation; Managing Workplace Health and Safety; International HRM Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development On successful completion of the course one is able to: Critically estimate and apply theories and models of HRM that explain the nature and significance of key HRM practices and HRM outcomes as they relate to diverse organizational contexts.
