The Civil Services Examination (CSE) is a nationwide competitive examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission UPSC for recruitment to various Civil Services of the Government of India, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Revenue Service (IRS).

Application Fee-

Candidates are required to pay fee of Rupee 100/- ( Rupees One Hundred only )

Pay the fees either by remitting the money in any Branch of SBI by Cash, or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India / State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur / State Bank of Hyderabad / State Bank of Mysore / State Bank of Patiala / State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa / Master Credit / Debit Card.

Female / SC / ST / PH candidates are exempted from payment of fee

Date of Notification: 27 April, 2016

Last Date to Apply: 27 May, 2016

Exam Date: 7 August, 2016

Civil Services Mains: 3 December, 2016

Numbers of attempts

The number of times a candidate may attempt the exam is limited as follows:

General category candidates = 6

OBC category candidates = 9

SC/ST candidates = unlimited attempts till 37 years of age
