IITB scholarship

Hello sir I want to know about the scholarships provided by the IIT Bombay so please give me some idea about the same.

Indian Institute of Technology Bombay offers various scholarships to the students on the basis of merit and income of their parents.

Scholarships provided by the IIT Bombay

1. Merit-cum-Means (MCM)


Merit-cum-Means scholarship is awarded @ Rs.1000/-per month with benefit of free tuition fee (Rs.25,000/-per semester) to a maximum of 25% of undergraduate students.

For Dual degree, it is available only upto the 4th year.

Merit Criterion:

For new entrants (B.Tech. and Dual degree) their JEE-AIR will be the criterion.

For M.Sc. programme, their performance in the admission test and interview will be considered for determining merit.

Means Criterion:

The parental income is the basis for the `means' criterion of the scholarship.

At present students whose parents' annual gross income from all sources does not exceed Rs.4, 50,000/- are eligible to apply for Merit-cum-Means Scholarship.

2. Private Scholarships

Those students who have applied for the Private Trust Scholarships will not be considered for the Institute Merit-cum-Means Scholarships.

2.1 IIT Bombay Heritage Fund Scholarships

The IIT Bombay Heritage Fund, U.S.A. created by the IIT Bombay Alumni in U.S.A. collects donations from the Alumni for institution of scholarships in IIT Bombay.

The scholarships are available to the students in large numbers.

Means Criterion: The parental income is the basis for the `means’ criterion of the scholarship.

At present students whose parent's annual gross income from all sources does not exceed Rs.5,00,000/-, are eligible.

2.2 Dr. Burjor Godrej Scholarships

Two Dr. Burjor Godrej Merit Scholarships - Rs. 5000 per month,

Six Dr. Burjor Godrej Merit cum Means Scholarships of Rs. 2000 per month a

Ten Prof. M V Pandya Merit cum Means Scholarships of Rs. 1000 per month are available to students admitted to M. Sc. Chemistry programmes at IIT Bombay.

2.3 Aditya Birla Scholarships
Rs 65,000 per annum

2.4 OPJEMS Scholarship
Yearly Scholarship: INR 65, 000
