Indian air force direct entry
I have completed my engineering course named B.Tech from a very good university. now I want to join the IAF. so I would like to know about how can any one take direct entry into the Indian air force? Also give me the details bout the career option for taking direct entry into the Indian air force? An Engineer can apply as an officer in any of the Aeronautical engineering streams such as Electronics and Mechanical of the Technical Branch via Direct Entry Scheme or University Entry Scheme either on Permanent commission (only for men) or Short Service commission (for men and women). One can join the Technical Branch through Direct Entry Scheme, only after completing engineering. Both men and women can use this mode of entry to apply to the Indian Air Force. One can join the Technical Branch through University Entry Scheme, when one is still in final or Pre-final year of Engineering. One is entitled to a stipend during your final year. Those selected for Permanent Commission would receive a Flying Officer's basic pay as stipend, while those selected for Short Service Commission would receive half that amount. The basic pay of a Flying Officer is Rs. 8250/- per month. The University Entry scheme is open only to men. Procedure to join Technical Branch Direct Entry Scheme – Men and Women candidate have the age between 18 and 28 years can apply through this scheme. The age of unmarried applicants should be below 25 years. To apply through the scheme, one should have minimum of 60% marks in the B. Tech course. University Entry Scheme (UES) – One studying in the final semester of B. Tech course can apply through the scheme. One should have minimum of 60% aggregate up to last semester at the time of applying for or during AFSB testing. Also, one should not have any backlogs during the previous semesters. It is mandatory that one should obtain minimum of 60% aggregate on successful completion of B. Tech course. Only men candidates can forward the application as the scheme is under permanent commission. One applying through both these schemes should qualify the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT). One can be submitted during the month of December every year. Last edited by Neelurk; March 11th, 2020 at 02:48 PM. |
