The Bangalore Campus of IVRI, spread over 135 acres of land, was established in 1972 with the assistance of Government of Denmark for large scale production of FMD virus vaccine and conducts basic and applied research on FMD .


The Institute has been awarded International Gold Star Award by (BID) Business Initiative Directions, Madrid, (Spain) for the quality of work for the year 1988-89


The monitoring and surveillance wing of this Campus keeps a constant vigil over the economically important diseases of the southern region.
