Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission TNPSC conducts Group 4 Examination for hiring well talented, dynamic and skilled Indian nationals for filling up vacant positions of Typist, Junior Assistant, Field Surveyor, Bill Collector and several other posts included in Group-IV Services.

TNPSC Group 4 Selection Process

The selection process is purely based on the performance of the candidates in the rounds conducted for selection.

The first round of TNPSC Group 4 is written exam. The written exam will be a bit tough in order to shortlist best candidates.

The appointments of the final list of candidates will be done considering the vacancies and reservations.

The first preference will be given to the candidates with good technical qualifications and good grades in Tamil and English.

Exam pattern -

Written Examination will comprise of three parts, mainly, English/Tamil, aptitude test and general studies.


The question paper will set of 300 marks in total, in which 75 questions are asked from General Studies, 25 questions from Aptitude Test and 100 questions from General English/ General Tamil.

Time duration given to handwrite the examination is about three hours, that is 180 minutes.
