About the Department of Agriculture Microbiology : Considering the importance of Microbiology in Agriculture, it was started as one of the units of the Department of Biology during 1971 in TNAU and attained the status of separate department during 1979.

Mother Teresa Women’s University, Kodaikanal conducts Tamil Nadu State Eligibility Test (TNSET 2017) for determining the eligibility for Assistant Professor in Tamil Nadu Universities and Colleges.


Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have secured at least 55% of marks (without rounding off) for General Category and 50% for Backward Classes/Most Backward Classes (MBC) / De-Notified Communities (DNC) / Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD-VH/PH),

in Master Degree or equivalent examination from Universities / Institutions recognized by UGC New Delhi in subjects like Sciences, Humanities (including languages), Social Sciences, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Sciences etc., are eligible to appear for this test.

Paper - I

Marks - 100

Number of Questions - 60 - out of which, 50 questions are to be attempted

Duration - 1¼ Hours (09:30 a.m. to 10.45 a.m.)


Session - Second

Paper - II

Marks - 100

Number of Questions - 50 questions - all compulsory

Duration - 1 ¼ Hours (11:15 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.


Session - Third

Paper - III

Marks - 150

Number of Questions - 50 questions - all compulsory

Duration - 2 ½ Hours (02.00 p.m. to 04.30 p.m.)
