Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission conducts direct recruitment for the post of Village Administrative Officer (VAO) or Grama Nirvaga Aluvalar in Tamilnadu Ministerial Service.

It is similar to the post of Village accountant tasked with the responsibility of maintenance of record, record keeping and account of preparation of statistical returns. This exam is conducted every year by the TNPSC.

Date of Notification:- 1st week of July 2015

TNPSC VAO (Village Administrative Officer) 2015 Exam Date:- 04.10.2015

Date of Result:- 1st week of December 2015

Date of Counseling:- 3rd week of December 2015

Eligibility for TNPSC VAO Exam:

(a) Age limit: Candidates aged between 21 and 30 years of age are eligible to apply for TNPSC VAO Exam

(b) Age relaxation: 40 years for SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs, BCMs and DWs of all castes.

(c) Educational qualification: SSLC (Matriculation-10 Class) Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies (or) to College Courses of studies.

(d) In addition to this candidates should also have (written and spoken) proficiency in Tamil language.
