Allied Services In UPSC
I want to get the details of IAS and Allied Services Examination of Union Public Service Commission UPSC so can you provide me? The IAS and Allied Services examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission UPSC for selection of candidates in top notch positions in the Central Government and its various departments. IAS and Allied Services examination eligibility- A degree of any University recognized as such. Age limit- 21-30 for general category relaxable by 3 years for OBCs and by 5 years for SC/ST Nationality- A Citizen of India for IAS and IPS For other services, a candidate must be either: A citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal/ Bhutan. A Tibetan refugee or who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 to permanently settle in India. Or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Srilanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to permanently settle in India. Provided he has a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India. Number of attempts: Category Number of Attempts General category 4 Physically handicapped belonging to general category 7 Other backward classes 7 SC/ST candidates Unlimited IAS Exam Syllabus- IAS Preliminary Examination 2016 would consist of two papers- Paper I and Paper II. The syllabus and pattern of the Preliminary Examination would be as under : Paper 1 (200 marks) - Duration : Two hrs. Current events of national and international importance History of India and Indian national movement Indian and World Geography- physical, social, economic geography of India and the world Indian Polity and governance – constitution, political system, panchayati raj, public policy, Rights issues, etc. Economic and social development – sustainable development, poverty, inclusion, demographics, social sector initiatives etc. General issues on environmental ecology, bio-diversity and climate change-that donot require subject specialization General science. Paper 2 (200 marks) - Duration : Two hrs. Comprehension Interpersonal skills including communication skills Logical reasoning and analytical ability Decision making and problem solving General mental ability Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc. (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. –Class X level) English language comprehension skills (Class X level) IAS Main Examination taken to assess the overall intellectual qualities and depth of understanding of candidates rather than merely the range of their information and memory. It will consist of a written examination and an interview test. The written examination will consist of 9 papers of conventional essay type in the selected subjects for main examination.
