Difference between the Indian Administrative Service and Indian Engineering Service
Will you please share with me the difference between the Indian Administrative Service and Indian Engineering Service? As you want to get the difference between the Indian Administrative Service and Indian Engineering Service so here it is for you: IAS is Indian Administrative Service IES is Indian Engineering Service Both the exams are conducted by the Union Public Service Commission IES is only for the engineering candidates IAS can be given by candidates who have passed graduation in any stream Here for your reference I am giving you the eligibility criteria of these 2 exams: IAS: Nationality: A candidate must be either :— a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal, or a subject of Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Age Limit: Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have crossed 30 years Minimum Educational Qualifications: Candidates must have passed graduation from any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India Number of Attempts: General: 4 OBC: 7 SC and ST: No Limit Scheme of CS (Preliminary) Examination The Preliminary Examination consists of two papers of objective type (multiple-choice questions) carrying a maximum of 400 marks. Bricks: Types, Indian Standard classification, absorption, saturation factor, strength in masonry, influence of morter strength on masonry strength. Cement: Compounds of, different types, setting times, strength. Cement Mortar: Ingredients, proportions, water demand, mortars for plastering and masonry. Concrete: Importance of W/C Ratio, Strength, ingredients including admixtures, workability, testing for strength, elasticity, non-destructive testing, mix design methods. 2. SOLID MECHANICS Elastic constants, stress, plane stress, Mohr’s circle of stress, strains, plane strain, Mohr’s circle of strain, combined stress; Elastic theories of failure; Simple bending, shear; Torsion of circular and rectangular sections and simple members. 3. STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS Analysis of determinate structures - different methods including graphical methods.
