Re: Dwg dce

The aim is to export curves from the 3D model in Maya to AutoCAD to use it as a base for a 2D technical drawing. The tutorial covers exporting NURBS curves from Maya to AutoCAD.

The actions needed to export curves from Maya to AutoCAD differ understandingly from version to version. Please note the instructions below are for the 2011 and higher versions of Maya.

Exporting curves from Maya 2011 and higher

It's required to have Maya 2011 introduced with the Direct Connect segment, which can be chosen amid establishment. In the event that you didn't introduce Direct Connect, you can download Direct Connect for Maya independently from the Autodesk site and introduce it physically. Moreover the DCExport.mll module must be stacked: Window » Settings/Preferences » Plug-in Manager

Ensure your lines are in the XY-plane, so you may need to pivot them. Gatherings them first in the event that they aren't as of now. Likewise ensure they're at Z-esteem 0.

Maya layers will likewise be sent out to the AutoCAD document, so you might need to put the bends in a layer or an arrangement of layers.

Select all curves.

Fare them through File > Export Selection > OptionBox.

Set the File Type to DWG_DCE.

On the off chance that the document sort DWG_DCE isn't recorded, the Direct Connect Export module isn't stacked. Go to Window > Settings/Preferences > Plug-in Manager and check DCExport.mll to stack it.

Snap Export Selection to begin the fare. You will be provoked for an area to spare the DWG document.

Contingent upon the layer shading in Maya, articles may appear to be missing when you open the traded DWG document. For example: a default Maya layer will make a DWG layer with a dark shading. The items won't appear on the off chance that you utilize the default dark foundation of AutoCAD. Changing the layer shading either in Maya or AutoCAD will understand this.

Units

The bends will sent out in 'exposed units', with no unit change. So a bend in Maya that is 5 units in length, will likewise be 5 units in AutoCAD. In case you're units in Maya speak to meters and your units in AutoCAD speak to millimeters, you should physically scale your bends. In this case with a scale factor of 1000.
