International Students whose native language is not English, must also submit an official report of their score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), from the Educational Testing Service.

The minimum scores required are as follows:

Paper Based (550)
Computer Based (213)
Internet Based (80)

Students may also take the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), an overall score of 6.5 is required. Florida International University Institutional code is 5206.

The following exceptions apply:

Applicants who completed 4 years of high school in the United States or other English-speaking countries or an international high school that is accredited by a U.S. regional accrediting body

Applicants who hold an undergraduate or graduate degree from an institution within the United States or other English-speaking countries

Applicants who meet a minimum SAT verbal section score of 500 or ACT English score of 20.
