At Hong Kong university candidates are required to get TOEFL score for admission. Applicant admitted on the basis of a qualification from an university or comparable institution outside Hong Kong.

Candidates are required the language of teaching or examination is not English is required to obtain a score of 577 or above (paper-based test), 233 or above (computer-based test) or 90 or above (internet-based test) in the TOEFL.

Test scores that are more than 2 years old will not be accepted.

The HKU code number for TOEFL is 9671.

In order to apply for the exchange programme at HKU, you must meet the following criteria:

Undertaken a minimum of 1 year of university level study by the time you start at HKU

Candidates to Faculty of Law: at least upper second-class honours (2:1) results (which converts to approximately a CGPA of 3.33 or above on a 4.2 scale)

Candidates to Faculty of Business and Economics: a grade level of B average / CGPA 3.0 / Satisfactory level
