As you requires I am here telling you about the entrance requirements for appear in Indian Administrative Service (IAS) exam of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). IAS Eligibility Criteria: Nationality: candidate must be a citizen of India. Educational Qualifications : Candidate must have graduation degree in any stream from any recognized University . Age requirement : Minimum : 21 years Upper age limit: General Category: Maximum age – 32 years/6 attempts OBC: 35 years/9 attempts SC/ST: 37 years/ No limitation on number of attempts. Physically Disabled (Blind, Deaf, Orthopedic): 42 years General Category: 9 attempts OBC: 9 attempts SC/ST: Up to age limit J & K Domicile: General Category: 37 years OBC: 40 years SC/ST: 42 years PH: 50 years IAS Exam Pattern for the preliminary exam : Paper Name of Paper Marks Allotted Paper 1: General Ability Test (GAT) 200 Marks Paper 2: English Language and Aptitude 200 Marks Total 400 Marks IAS Exam Pattern for the Main Examination There would two types of Papers in the examination. The candidates will have to appear in both the parts. There would be 7 papers in the Main Examination . There would be two optional papers which the candidates would have to select. Qualifying Papers Paper A: One of the Indian Language to be selected by the candidates from the Language included in the 6th Schedule of the Constitution – 300 Marks. Paper B: English – 300 Marks |
