IES Exam Eligible Engineering Branches

I want to know about name of engineering branches valid for Indian Engineering Services (IES) examination of UPSC ?

Indian Engineering Services (IES) examination is organized by UPSC for recruitments in government sector on engineering posts. Indian engineering service exam mainly applicable for Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Electronics streams .

IES exam is conducted to fill vacancies only in these four departments:
Category I—Civil Engineering
Category II—Mechanical Engineering
Category III—Electrical Engineering
Category IV—Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

Educational Qualifications
You have to pass a degree in Engineering from a recognized university or equivalent.

Age-limits
21-30 years on 1st August of the year of Examination.

Exam pattern :
Written Examination
Paper I (Objective type) General Ability Test
(Part A: General English)
(Part B: General Studies) 200 Marks

Papers II & III (Objective type) Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Electronics & Tele-Communication Engineering 200 Marks for each paper

Papers IV & V(Conventional Type) Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Electronics & Tele-communication Engineering 200 Marks for each paper
Total marks for written Examination 1000 Marks
Personality Test 200 Marks
