IISC is provides study for Oceanography through Center for Earth Sciences. The Center for Earth Sciences (CEaS) at IISc focuses on understanding fundamental Earth and planetary processes as well as assessing their impacts through observations, lab experiments, analytical chemistry and computational simulations.

This Center for Earth Sciences was established in 2007, its academic programs lead to M.Tech., M.Sc. (Eng) and Ph.D. degrees.
