Re: IIT Mumbai Eligibility

To apply for IIT Mumbai I will tell you eligibility criteria and other related details of IIT Joint Engineering Entrance (JEE) Advanced, so that you can remember easily.

Eligibility
The candidates should be among the top 2,20,000 (including all categories) in JEE Mains.

The candidates can take JEE advance a maximum of two times in consecutive years.

A candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2017 or 2018.

The students who have given class XII boards before 2016 and their results have been declared can also appear in JEE Advance 2018
Candidates already admitted to IITs or if they have accepted a seat in IITs but didn’t continue or if their admission was cancelled are not eligible for JEE Advance 2018.

Syllabus
Chemistry:

Concept of atoms and molecules, neutralisation, Absolute scale of temperature, root mean square and most probable velocities and their relation with temperature, Bohr model, spectrum of hydrogen atom, quantum numbers, etc.

Physics:
Units and dimensions, dimensional analysis, Kinematics in one and two dimensions, Linear and angular simple harmonic motions, Hooke’s law, Young’s modulus, etc.

Mathematics:
Algebra of complex numbers, addition, multiplication, conjugation, Trigonometric functions, their periodicity and graphs, Cartesian coordinates, distance between two points, section formulae, etc.

AAT Exam:
Exercises in geometrical drawing containing lines, angles, triangles, Understanding and appreciation of three-dimensional forms, Composition exercise with given elements, Context mapping, etc.

Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1992. Five years relaxation is given to SC, ST and PwD candidates, i.e., these candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1987.
A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times in consecutive years. Therefore, candidates who appeared in JEE (Advanced) 2016 for the first time are also eligible.
Candidates should be among the top 2,20,000 (including all categories) by scoring positive marks in Paper-1 of JEE (Main) 2017.
