To improve the quality of weather and climate forecasts in India, Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Govt. of India has recognized that a large number of well trained scientists, knowledgeable in atmospheric, oceanic and geosciences have to be inducted to India’s R & D and operational organizations.

For this, special manpower development program has been taken up by establishing the Centre for Advanced Training in Earth System Science and Climate (CAT ESSC) at IITM, Pune.

Praiseworthy Masters in science and Bachelors/Masters in engineering degree holders are recruited and provided the induction training extending to eighteen months.

In-House Training

In-House Training covers Basic and Advanced aspects of the Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences including Ocean Science have been conducted for the Research Students and Young Scientists.
